For families caring from afar

You can't be there for everything. You can still be informed, prepared, and involved.

"I live in Florida and my mother lives somewhere else." Caring from a distance brings its own worry. Guided by a Nurse provides remote RN-led care-navigation support to help you stay organized and feel connected to what's happening.

The long-distance challenge

  • You rely on short phone calls to understand how your parent is doing.
  • It's hard to know whether providers are communicating with each other.
  • You worry that important details are being missed.
  • Siblings or relatives each have a different picture of what's going on.

How remote support works

A trusted professional in your corner

An experienced RN who helps you understand the situation and what to ask.

Organized updates

Clear, organized summaries of what was discussed and what needs attention.

Appointment preparation

Help preparing questions and priorities, including for visits you can't attend.

Family coordination

Help the whole family stay aligned on questions and next steps.

Virtual and phone support

Support by phone and video wherever you are.

Remote support is about organization, understanding, and communication. It does not replace your parent's clinicians or hands-on caregivers. In-person services are subject to availability, location, and the nature of the engagement.

Common questions

Questions families often ask

Can you work with family members who live out of state?

Yes. Long-distance family members are an important part of who we serve. Much of our support can be provided by phone and virtually, which makes it possible to help from anywhere.

Can you help me care for an aging parent?

Yes. Many clients are adult children helping a parent navigate multiple providers, appointments, and transitions. We help you stay organized and informed while respecting your parent's preferences.

Can you attend medical appointments?

Where legally and operationally appropriate and when contracted to do so, support may be available virtually, by phone, or in person. In-person services are subject to availability, location, travel requirements, and the nature of the engagement.

Guided by a Nurse is not an emergency medical service. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or seek appropriate emergency medical care.
