Why an RN advocate
Guided by a Nurse combines more than two decades of healthcare experience with personal, RN-led advocacy to help patients and families navigate healthcare with clarity, dignity, and confidence.
An RN understands the language, workflows, and pressures of care teams, and can help you ask better questions.
When things feel urgent or confusing, steady guidance can help you slow down and focus.
Your advocate's only job is to support you and your family.
The goal is better communication with your doctors, never conflict with them.
Helping you navigate a parent's healthcare, even when you can't be there for everything.
Aging parent advocacyUnderstand the plan, organize follow-up, and know which questions to ask before going home.

Meet your nurse advocate
Meet Nadine M. Martinez, RN
With more than 20 years in the medical field and 11 years as a Registered Nurse, Nadine has cared for patients across medical-surgical, orthopedic, neurological, stroke, long-term care, geriatric, and case-management settings.
She created Guided by a Nurse to give patients and families something that can often be difficult to find in a complicated healthcare system: an experienced professional who can help them understand what is happening, organize the next steps, prepare important questions, and make sure their concerns are heard.
Every healthcare journey deserves guidance, clarity, dignity, and respect.
Your Nurse. Your Advocate. Your Guide.
Guided by a Nurse provides RN-led patient advocacy and care-navigation services throughout:
Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake, Polk, Volusia
Including communities such as Orlando, Altamonte Springs, Lakeland, Winter Haven, Daytona Beach, and surrounding areas.
An independent nurse advocate is a registered nurse who works directly for you and your family, not for a hospital, clinic, or insurance company. At Guided by a Nurse, that means helping you understand your care, prepare for important conversations, organize information, and navigate the healthcare system.
No. Guided by a Nurse is an independent RN-led patient advocacy and care-navigation practice. We do not provide home-health services or hands-on nursing care.
No. Your advocate works alongside your healthcare team, not in place of them. Your physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and pharmacists remain responsible for your medical care.
No. We do not diagnose medical conditions. We can help you understand the information your clinicians have given you and prepare questions to ask them.
